If you ever find yourself in that situation, just ask, "Officer, aren't you, ahem...being a bit of a hypocrite?" And then gesture toward police car with headlight out.See how that works out for you.

If you actually get a ticket for having a headlight out you must be acting like a dick.

The trick is saying "Is this about the headlight? I just spotted that today and couldn't get to the shop in time to get a replacement. I'm going to the dealership first thing tomorrow."I drove around with a headlight out for 2 months and said that every time I got pulled. No tickets.

A head light bulb is what $15 as long as you don't have hids. And I doubt any of you cheap chumps have a car with factory hids. Yall some cheap bastards.

This makes me think of the time my stepmom was pulled over for not putting on her blinker turning out of the subdivision. She said the cop didn't put his blinker on when they pulled into a parking lot.

better question. if you got pulled over in a DeLorean going 88 mph would you get a ticket?
7/22/2011 12:46:59 PM
I highly doubt there are many police officers pulling people over just because they have a headlight out. In most cases, they use this as the excuse to pull you when they suspect you might be doing something else. (i.e., driving drunk)[Edited on July 22, 2011 at 12:54 PM. Reason : a]

^^ yes. Your flux capacitor is broken.
7/22/2011 1:28:32 PM
unlike normal NC motorists, police officers are not directly responsible for the maintenance of their vehicles, that's the fleet mechanic's job.
7/22/2011 1:30:46 PM
^ yes, but it's up to the officer to take note of a maintenance problem during his pre-shift walkaround
7/22/2011 1:31:37 PM
which every police officer does every time they get in their car
7/22/2011 1:33:21 PM
don't roll your eyes because a police officer that is supposed to enforce the rules can't follow them on his own....he deserves a ticket for that shit
7/22/2011 1:35:11 PM
^^ i never said they do it every time they get in, but if they notice it at the beginning of the day and don't swap out a car without a bum light, that's on them, not fleet services ]

both of you calm down, neither one of you know exactly how a cop acquires their vehicle. i remember a time when wasn't such a big deal.
7/22/2011 1:42:49 PM
