You know, by being a boss of female and male employees and by being someone's boyfriend, I get to see how often people get sick. It seems to me that girls usually get sick 2 days per week or 8 times a month on average. That's an alarming 26.6% of the time.Guys, on the other hand, usually get sick once a month on average for the span of about 2 days. (Hangovers not included as being sick) That's only 6.67% of the time.Do these statistics seem accurate to you? Do you think guys get sick a lot more, but just not communicate that they're sick and act like their normal? Or are female bodies really that screwed up?[Edited on August 20, 2011 at 2:06 PM. sounds like you hang out with a chick with an inadequate immune systemdoes she have HIV?better wrap that shit up.
8/20/2011 2:07:26 PM
People that get sick that much are weak.
8/20/2011 2:08:34 PM
how much of your pizza are they eating?
8/20/2011 2:08:38 PM
elkaybie, how often do you get sick? Not feel good? Upset stomach after eating?
8/20/2011 2:09:10 PM
wtf is wrong with the women you hang out with? Sounds like they're not actually sick and just trying to play you. Or they have the AIDS. A toss up really.
8/20/2011 2:10:55 PM
Sounds like you need to clean the crusty cum out of your sexdoll.
8/20/2011 2:11:11 PM
8/20/2011 2:11:48 PM
Maybe girls are just sick of you.
8/20/2011 2:12:10 PM
I haven't been sick sick in about a year. But when it comes to work thats a bit different. But then again I get tons of time off a year so taking time off isn't a problem.
8/20/2011 2:12:20 PM
Now now guys. What I'm really trying to figure out is:How often are you guys really sick? How often do you guys fake being sick?
8/20/2011 2:13:48 PM
I hardly ever get really sick. I might have a bad cold for a week or so, but that's about it.
8/20/2011 2:14:38 PM
For a week or so per year or per month?
8/20/2011 2:15:36 PM
Maybe you just hire women with shitty work ethics.
8/20/2011 2:17:54 PM
If it's a cold I might be home like one or two days depending on how I feel. I also have the option to work from home so I can still work remotely. But there are days when I know I have a ton of unused sick time and I need to burn it off so if I don't feel well (ie I feel tired) then I take a sick day. Let me put it this way. My sick time is always maxed out at 80 hours unused because that's how little i use it.
8/20/2011 2:18:52 PM
I think my wife and I combined over the past 2 years have taken 2 sick days? (1 each). Also, I don't really notice a pattern at work with guys versus girls other than that guys tend to come in even when they shouldn't which might skew this in guys' favor purely on sick days taken.
8/20/2011 2:19:53 PM
It might be allergies, this year my allergies have been really acting up and I have had to take allergy medicine for the first time in a long time.
8/20/2011 2:21:03 PM
Shitty work ethic doesn't really correlate with gender. It correlates more with nationality and social class.
8/20/2011 2:21:04 PM
^^,^^^,^^^^ thank you. Really good input
8/20/2011 2:23:16 PM
I think hispanics are the hardest workers and usually have the shittiest jobs (like working at a pizza place).
8/20/2011 2:24:23 PM
Lower-quality or lower-importance of the job tends to perpetuate a bad work ethic too. If people feel like their participation has a minor impact.[Edited on August 20, 2011 at 2:25 PM. Reason : ]

^ This is true. One of the worst places I worked for as far as coworkers blowing off work was a retail job where the owner for some god unknown reason would hire a bunch of high schoolers at minimum wage and then couldn't understand why they skipped work and stole money from the register.
8/20/2011 2:28:35 PM
I get sick about 4 times per year with usually one that lasts a week and three that last a day or two.
8/20/2011 2:30:01 PM
eh give them a break, they bleed and cramp like 20-25% of their lives
8/20/2011 2:30:14 PM
Not if you're a Duggar.
8/20/2011 2:31:05 PM
I haven't been sick beyond the occasional snotty nose in yearsAnd while I have observed that many girls are sick more frequently than guys, I'd say you're grossly overestimating the average
8/20/2011 2:39:56 PM
8/20/2011 2:40:15 PM
I'll take a guy right out of prison / rehab that is legitimately turning his life around over some snot-nosed entitled college prick with zero real-world experience and no work ethic.
8/20/2011 2:51:26 PM
only problem with that logic from a hiring standpoint is that most of the time you wouldn't know if the kid has no work ethic or if the rehab guy is truly trying to turn his life around until they have actually worked there for a bit...
8/20/2011 2:53:45 PM
8/20/2011 2:56:41 PM
There's chicks I know that are sick ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Like 50% of the year.
Well as far as girlfriends are concerned it's all centered around when they don't want to eat and instead feel "fat" (sick).

Maybe you shouldn't go into a market that has been saturated since the 50s.
8/20/2011 3:55:08 PM
^^ would it be more beneficial to just be open from 4pm to 3am?

I worked at pizza hut for 9 years. They were a thriving company until they started making everything frozen and cheap. My preconceived notion was that they top executives were greedy. I thought that if I went back and made a quality pizza, that I could be the next pizza hut. M post-conceived notion is that they were forced to in order to keep up with the competition. When they switched to frozen dough, they cut their entire morning prep labor which, like I said in my previous post, 1 labor hour = ~1 hour of all expenses. So they saved a shitton of money and are able to give the customers unlimited toppings for $10. Dominos has the $7.99 large now. As a small business we have to put up with these super huge companies that get super huge bulk discounts go to war with each other. A small business has to pay the highest product prices, so you see how high quality just can't survive in mom and pop shops. I have, on the other hand, have been able to pull it off by working 1692 consecutive days without a day off by doing everything myself.

I don't think you understand merbig.Material cost for pizza keeps rising, labor keeps rising, yet prices of pizza are falling in the corporate level to new lows. This is an economic catastrophe for small businesses. The only sector that hasn't been given a free-bee to by the government is..... small businesses. The corporations, banks, poor, and unemployed got handouts.Who employs the most people? small businesses.Who needs hired help? small businesses.Do I want to do all the labor and run my business? noDo I want to hire help? yesCan I hire help? noWhy does the country have a 10% unemployment rate?Starting to get the picture?[Edited on August 20, 2011 at 4:26 PM. Back to the original topic. In the past 12 months, I've been sick twice. Right now I'm getting over a summer cold, and back while I was preggers, I had allergies that turned into a sinus infection. As long as I don't have constant contact with kids, I only get sick during allergy season.
8/20/2011 6:51:33 PM
i'm always sick.. not cold/flu sick but sick
8/20/2011 6:55:56 PM
I learned in a sociology class (AHA!) that on average women actually take off like 1.5 or 2 more days a year than men. And when you factor in that they're the most likely to be taking off for child-related issues, they ultimately take less sick time than men. I also think that women are less likely to identify as "sick" because we're accustomed to feeling crappy once a month.I don't know if any of this applies to a teenage girl who doesn't need money very much so she can call in "sick" to her pizza job at will.
8/20/2011 7:16:06 PM
My wife seems to have some ailment every other week. I have only been sick once in the past 2-3 years. She has allergies and a pretty bad immune system. I could lick a Tijuana toilet seat and be fine.
8/20/2011 7:37:46 PM
I don't even remember the last time i was laying in bed, feeling like hell sick.I feel kinda under the weather maybe a few days per year.
8/20/2011 7:41:07 PM
Since I've started my new job...in november...I only had to go home from work early once...I have never called in sick...the only reason I went home from work early for being sick is because I was so sick I shit my pants...I would think that would be a valid reason to go home.
