--not a parody of the similarly titled 'downtown charlotte restaurant' thread--anyone know of good restaurants in downtown norfolk? i'll be spending several days there in a few weeks.cost isn't really a factor.

Almost anywhere off Granby that doesn't look like it's filled with TEDs should be pretty good. I haven't been there in a year and I'm not sure if the place I liked closed. It was called Hell's Kitchen and was just a neat little place that had amazing food and would play nine inch nails and shit (no relation to the TV series).

Domo has wonderful sushi. Also, go over to Ghent and eat at No Frill.and Hell's Kitchen is a cool bar, too.Kincaid's, attached to McArthur Center, is damn good--pretty expensive--but damn good. See if there are any decent shows at the Norva, too. AWESOME venue.[Edited on August 27, 2011 at 10:22 AM. Reason : asdfasddd]

Did I mention I'm open until 3am every night, I have over 90 different beers (state law cut off is 2am though), I have a pizza called "The Heart Attack" that has all meat chili (no bean), a pound of french fries, green pepper, onion, double pizza cheese, melted nacho cheese on top when it comes out, with Old Bay, Lawry's, and Dark chili powder, decorated with chopped green onion piece and a side of sour cream? or the best philly steak and cheese, sauteed with green peppers, onions, and mushroom, and toasted to perfection? The steak and cheese is cooked on the spot, it's not sitting in a pot getting stewy and it's so good that I use absolutely no seasonings in it to cover up any taste.

Yeh I still have power for now In a pretty strong area for electricity, not many above ground power lines or trees to fall on them.Right now, it just feels like I'm in a 20 hour long carwash with the rain pressure washing my windows.
8/27/2011 11:21:33 AM
^ What is your pizza place called? I too live in Virginia Beach... Don't think I'll have power too much longer

8/27/2011 11:33:52 AM
I'm not even making this up when I say this...It's the best pizza in America.
8/27/2011 11:37:51 AM
nope, just lying. If your pizza was good, you'd have business.
8/27/2011 12:05:51 PM

there's a great little Brazilian steakhouse called Espeto Na Brasa. It's somewhat cheaper than most Brazilian Steakhouses, and it's very, very good.

9/1/2011 7:41:40 PM
^Why? To open up the chance for people from cry and whine about how it's not a real philly steak like they make in philadelphia (because I'm located outside philly), when in fact there are many varieties of philly steak in philly AND yet if I picked my place up and moved my physical location to philadelphia, they wouldn't be able to say it's not a philly steak from philadelphia, WOULD THEY?!?!?!? Fuck you, Puck![Edited on September 1, 2011 at 7:51 PM. Reason : .]

Best Pizza place in that area is near the corner of Providence and Kempsville Rd. It's called "Bruno's Pizza."Fantastic pizza and subs, and great people to boot.Well apparently they're closed. So... nevermind.[Edited on September 1, 2011 at 8:27 PM. Reason : .]

9/1/2011 8:26:47 PM
Yah man. From what I gather from a former employee, the guy hired an accountant to take care of his money, and she embezzled like $10,000 from him or something, causing him to close the doors.
9/1/2011 8:30:29 PM
Thats a damn shame. VA Beach really is hit or miss for good pizza places. Channellos was dogshit, yet it was what most people always opted for because it was cheap. I always tried to find the locally owned, quality places. If I'm ever back up that way I'll grab a slice at your joint. I'll let ya know.
9/1/2011 8:37:26 PM
Yah man. Let me know.
