Verizon is doing a promotion where if you sign up for a new 4G phone, they will double your data plan amount for free. (http://shop.verizonwireless.com/?id=Double%20Data)I just got a Bionic a little over a month ago, so I called into customer service to see if I could get on this. The rep told me that the deal is actually open to all verizon (new and existing) data customers (3g or 4g). They doubled my 2g of data to 4g for no cost increase. He said that you must call in, and say that you want to double your data for free- per this promotion. They will not be doing it automatically, so you have to call in to get them to do it. It is a "Limited Time Promotion", so go ahead and get on it (the offer, not the free data, is a limited time promotion). If you dial into Verizon Customer Service (1800-922-0204) and press 0, then when it talks pres ####, it will take you right to someone. The whole process took me 3min and 20 seconds. [Edited on November 8, 2011 at 10:35 PM. Reason : dangit, how did I not see the other thread. dbhawley fail]

I didn't know people bought smartphones that have no coverage (Sprint, AT&T, ect).

I've thought about switching (their coverage is much better out here in Clinton), but it's just stupid expensive. I get practically unlimited calling, texting and data for $40/month. I can't even pay their data plan for $40/month, and they'll cut me off after a few gigs.Plus I'm not even sure Sprint accounts for my data use properly. I was on a business trip in October and sucked down just under 5GB worth of data downloading videos my boss left at the office by accident. I checked my bill and they said I used just 1GB last month - which ain't nowhere close to right. If Sprint would quit screwing around and spend money buying US Cellular (best coverage in the area) I would be a happy camper.
