I've never thought twice about it, but a friend of mine refuses to do it which made me wonder how many others there are like her. I will say when I see people doing it, they're usually guys...

I do this all the time (eat by myself).[/forever alone]
12/26/2011 2:28:26 PM
i don't like to
12/26/2011 2:29:05 PM
I only eat out with my girlfriend. Otherwise I never bother to.
12/26/2011 2:29:38 PM
if you work out of town enough, you'll get comfortable eating alone rather quickly.
12/26/2011 2:29:45 PM
I'm doing it right now
12/26/2011 2:30:31 PM
Durr, of course chicks are much less likely to do this. They can't fend for themselves out in the wild
12/26/2011 2:33:41 PM
Who would pay for their meal?I should justify that I was thinking about the girls who use dating websites just to get free meals.[Edited on December 26, 2011 at 2:41 PM. Reason : Sexist comment is sexist.]

kind of surprised there was no sexual references in the first 8 posts.[Edited on December 26, 2011 at 2:48 PM. Reason : 8]

This a restaurant or just fast food, because I do fast food alone all the time
12/26/2011 2:50:25 PM
I eat out at nice restaurants by myself all the time. Usually I bring a book or at least have my iphone to read.
12/26/2011 2:57:49 PM
I am now doing this at chickfila.

I've never eaten at a nice restaurant by myself, pizza shops are about as high class as I'll goNo offense Ruckus

When in Raleigh I only do this at fast food type places or somewhere close to work/school. I don't think I've ever shelled out more than $12 on food by myself in Raleigh. Traveling I do it all the time, will eat nice meals, and not think twice about it. I will not, however, go to a bar to drink by myself unless it is a beer with my food. When traveling, I frequently go to bars and drink by myself and try to meet people to hang out with while I'm in whatever city it is.

I used to really hate doing this. Now almost everyone I know is married, so I do it all the time. Like, every day. Don't really think twice about it now.
12/26/2011 4:01:17 PM
If I don't have anyone to eat with I get my food to go
12/26/2011 4:20:19 PM
yeah, but most good restaurants don't lend themselves well to that
12/26/2011 6:29:17 PM
Yea...being a grad student who mostly does field work and lives in the boonies doesn't lead to much social activity, even as simple as eating solo. I'm comfortable with it. I've never really thought if people judge me because of it, but if anyone does I don't really give a fuck because they're just pretentious assholes.[Edited on December 26, 2011 at 7:15 PM. Reason : Did you train at MCRD PISC/MCAS? If so, you probably flew over my house.]

I think so. I don't do it often but I think I would be comfortable eating alone. I also wonder how people feel about going to movies alone. I do this every now and then. I do enjoy that.

I eat out for lunch alone every day. I usually bring a book. I enjoy the peaceful time alone, away from work, where I can wind down and not have to listen to anyone else talk for a while.

12/26/2011 8:31:34 PM
I ate at Zaxby's recently by myself. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet.
12/26/2011 9:09:46 PM
I do this frequently.
12/26/2011 9:23:19 PM
I'm very comfortable eating alone. I enjoy eating lunch out by myself to escape the office/work non-sense.

Occasionally.Great time to bring my Kindle with me and get some reading done.
12/27/2011 7:52:48 AM
I don't really give a fuck. Though, I can say that I usually won't get a table to myself at a restaurant by myself... instead, I will sit at the bar.
