Either in terms of total number or as a percentage of the bill. I'm mainly talking about restaurants/bars/clubs but we can expand the scope to ...entertainment...if y'all want. For the purposes of this thread, exclude transactions where you got something free (eg free drinks from the bartender).

100%I was drunk at ihop and she was hot as fuck
12/26/2011 3:31:02 PM
I mean if it's $1-2 beer night I tip a dollar a beer so it can easily be 50% in such a case. Otherwise, I've tipped friends that were bartending around 50% on a bigger tab but they usually hooked it up, in which case I tip according to what I didn't pay for
12/26/2011 3:34:46 PM
Why just the tip? Why not all of it?
12/26/2011 3:38:56 PM
Probably drunk one new years, I think it was in the range of about $75
12/26/2011 3:42:09 PM
i gave a $100 tip once, but it was more like a christmas present
12/26/2011 3:49:36 PM

Group of me and my 4 buddies each left a 50-100 dollar tip at an onbase Chilis, we had gotten off the plane from our deployment like 2 hours prior and it was our first meal back
12/26/2011 4:08:44 PM
like 400% one time at waffle houseit was only a soda, but she filled it five or six times and some of the group I was there with were being douches.
12/26/2011 4:14:10 PM
$20 at Olive Garden unlimited pasta bowl.
12/26/2011 4:20:52 PM
around 500% because most of the bill was comp'd
12/26/2011 4:38:50 PM
Percentage-wise, I've definitely tipped over 100%, but never with a bill over $10 in normal circumstances. In absolute terms, I tipped around 30% on a $400 bill on my honeymoon which was one of the best meals of my life and totally worth it.
12/26/2011 5:01:42 PM
I tipped $25 on $5 once, but I knew the bartender and he was working on his birthday.
12/26/2011 5:33:24 PM
i tipped a girl somewhere around 100% one time, but she was the most hilarious waitress i've ever had, and helped me steal a cup that i really wanted. she also brought a guy at the table a bowl of just croutons and dressing. as he ate it he said "guys, this is rock bottom."
12/26/2011 5:44:50 PM
does not compute to this brown person
12/26/2011 6:54:53 PM
I only tip colored waitresses
12/26/2011 7:46:37 PM

I've definitely tipped 100% or more before.BUT that's only ever been at a cheap chain salon like Super Cuts when I've gotten a fabulous hair cut for like 15 bucks.
12/26/2011 7:51:48 PM
Bout tree fidy
12/26/2011 7:52:48 PM

$600 (20%)[Edited on October 30, 2012 at 11:13 AM. Reason : company lunch with clients]
10/30/2012 11:12:47 AM
I'm pretty much always a 20% tipper unless I'm drunk at Waffle House - then I go to 100%
10/30/2012 11:13:41 AM
I have a major prob with cute servers that take good care of me... generally always a $20 bill up to $100 if I am hammered
10/30/2012 11:20:26 AM
infinity%accidentally gave a cocktail waitress at a casino a $100 chip and a $1 chip for a free drink instead of two $1 chips.oops.[Edited on October 30, 2012 at 11:21 AM. Reason : e]
10/30/2012 11:21:35 AM
I've definitely tipped over 200% more than once, but it was on a two-dollar coffee and I give my baristas fives sometimes if I have it on me. I think the top for dinners/drinks is 30-40% every once in a while PR because it's usually cheap enough that I can afford to add a few extra dollars.I usually do about 20-25% as a base.
10/30/2012 11:50:24 AM
i think the total tip out from all of my wedding stuff was like a grand.but a single restaurant/bar type deal? probably 50 bucks. that's the most i remember. One time in college, i was drunk as shit, and we we went to milano's after EV, and the guy in front of me didn't sign his receipt and walked off. I yelled to him that he didn't sign his receipt, and he gave me the finger and walked out. So I wrote in $100 and signed it for him. Somebody that worked there had a good night.
10/30/2012 11:59:27 AM
Somebody that worked there probably got accused of writing in their own tip without permission.
10/30/2012 12:02:56 PM
ahh shit i forgot about wedding tip-outs.guess that was about a thousand, like bibbydogital
10/30/2012 12:05:09 PM
I tipped the waitress who chased down my mugger in Barcelona 50 euro for her troubles. I think our bill was like 10 EU.
10/30/2012 12:06:21 PM
^^^well damn i hope not. but this was milano's. they were shady as fuck and likely didn't give a damn if the guy even called later to complain.
10/30/2012 12:07:57 PM
... I think I tipped my dealer at the tables in Vegas like $75... but at that point I didn't care
10/30/2012 12:08:04 PM
$40 on a $80 bar tab.
10/30/2012 12:08:33 PM
Percentage wise doesn't really count because a lot of my best friends are bartenders and I don't get charged for much. So $20 or $30 on a $10 tab that includes 10 drinks is pretty normal. I have tipped $100 for a $200 dinner where the service was just phenomenal. Yeah, there were a few comped glasses of champagne, a desert, and a glass of wine here and there....but it truly was the best service I've ever experienced.
10/30/2012 12:14:46 PM
16%, because the service was really really good.I normally don't tip, everyone knows that is just extra money that the people pocket above their paycheck.
10/30/2012 12:30:24 PM
$12 on an $8 bar tab, because bartender gave us 5 or so pints and only billed that much.
