I am working my way through the show on DVD...on season 4....and no joke a dude named Omar Little was
arrested in Baltimore over last weekend:

The full name of the man arrested over the weekend is Omar Little Jr., and records show Omar Little Sr. has a record including several drug arrests from the 1990s. The arrest of the younger man, who is 19, is his first, but he's being held on $350,000 bond because it's a gun crime. Attempts to reach both men were unsuccessful, and police so far haven't been able to get me a copy of the police report. Of course, if you want to get down to it, there's plenty of people named Omar Little out there, though only three in the Baltimore area from what I can tell. I called one of them, a 40-year-old who lives in the Baltimore suburb of Essex (and who has no criminal record, mind you), and got his mom, who said her son was named after the Egyptian-born actor Omar Sharif. "There's a whole lot of them, mister. You just happened to look up on one," said Gloristine Little, 66. "
