How the hell did people drown? Its like 100 feet from shore! Even if you can't swim, you could doggy paddle that far.
1/17/2012 1:41:29 PM
One of the articles I read said people were stuck inside the ship, and couldn't get out / had to tie bedsheets together to get up the hallways.
1/17/2012 1:42:42 PM
Yeah, you'd have to be an idiot to drown in this lovely little swimming pool in the pitch black. Passengers were told to go back to their cabins and wait. Hell on earth.
1/17/2012 1:53:58 PM
1/17/2012 1:56:22 PM
or have they?
1/17/2012 1:58:59 PM
Well pardon me. I thought it was just a free for all where folks were jumping in the water and drowning like black folk.
1/17/2012 2:08:02 PM
Interesting, I have that same bottom timer.
1/17/2012 2:33:03 PM
The Uwatec's are the best.
1/17/2012 2:35:32 PM
Until they tell you you're 4ft underwater when you're still in the parking lot walking to the dive site.
1/17/2012 2:39:34 PM
why do they call them dive computers
1/17/2012 2:39:35 PM
1/17/2012 2:41:43 PM
1/17/2012 2:45:00 PM
interesting...i figured dive computers were just basically watches, didnt realize they did calculations
1/17/2012 2:45:26 PM
Steaming too close to the coast, make a dumb-shit move, and vessel completely worthless. I hate it when that happens.

in every interview, and every news anchor keep saying how much it is like the titanic. Let's list some reason why it is NOT the same as the fucking titanic and more like a capsized cruise liner 100 yards from shore:-death toll is like 11 (1503 died from the titanic wreck)-rescue equipment like a helicopter (titanic, no helicopters)-captain abandoned a relatively non threatening situation where he could actually help rescuers and help them understand the layout of the ship and other intricacies (Capt. Smith stayed on board and went down with his ship like a real man)
1/19/2012 1:07:47 PM
1/19/2012 1:11:10 PM
Yeah but how many other big ships that've sunk could the average person name? Probably zero, so Titanic is their only natural comparison, however non-analogous they may be.
1/19/2012 1:12:44 PM
HAHAHAHAHA BIGMAN!!!!!!
1/19/2012 1:13:08 PM
didn't yogi's ark sink in the pacific?
1/19/2012 1:13:47 PM
Up to 1987, the Titanic disaster marked the Second greatest loss of life in peacetime maritime history. (over 1,500) On December 20, 1987, the overcrowded Philippine ferry boat, Dona Paz, collided with an oil tanker off the island of Mindoro (south of Manila) The Dona Paz flipped over and sank taking with it the lives of 4,536 passengers and crew.Prior to the Dona Paz tragedy, the greatest maritime loss of life in peacetime is credited to the SS Sultana. The Sultana was assigned to bring home US soldiers liberated from the confederate run POW camp at Andersonville,Texas. She picked up her 2,200 union soldiers at Vicksburg, MS in August of 1865, On the way home one of her boilers exploded and she sank killing 1,647 passengers and crew. it was a capsized vessel and people died, that is the story... I get it if the survivors wanna make that analogy, it must of been tramatic, but what is with all these dang news stories
