this offseason has been really underwhelming.Andres Gallaraga, Dana Eveland, and those two guys we got in the Guts deal are pretty underwhelming. Depth, I suppose.I'll be interested to see how the new asians do. Also, here's to Matusz, Britton, and Arrieta finally finding the groove. Otherwise, this looks to be our 15th losing year, so I'll probably not follow it too closely. Just sit back and enjoy whatever is out there to enjoy.
2/18/2012 5:39:06 PM
andres galarraga?

Setting the line for the number of innings watched this year at 9, and taking the under.[Edited on February 19, 2012 at 1:42 PM. Reason : 1]

the o's recently got banned from scouting in south korea. there's a rule that MLB teams aren't allowed to sign kids before they're done with school, and this kid still had a year of high school left. the repercussions are that the team gets banned from any activity in korea, and the player is also banned from playing or coaching for the rest of his life. all this fucking organization had to do was not talk to the kid for another year. instead, they ran themselves out of one of the biggest growing asian talent pools, and they've essentially ruined a teenager's career in his country before it even got started. it's mind-boggling that this team continues year in and year out to make itself worse. i guess that's what you get when you sign a fucking GM who got run out of the game before cameras were ubiquitous technology in cell phones. i don't know why i keep rooting for the orioles. it's just getting more and more embarrassing every year. brian roberts is done because his brain won't stop quivering since he's an idiot and decides it's a good idea to dive head first into 1B. all the young arms are busts. best case scenario we get a 3 starter out of arrieta. matusz and tillman are fucking broken. there is literally no hope.there was a rumor floating around that peter angelos is quietly looking for someone to buy the team, but that's probably just wishful thinking among the people of baltimore. i can't wait til that motherfucker drops dead. him and bud selig. god damn it.at least i have the nats as my NL team, and my office is now a 10 minute walk from their stadium. tickets are cheap, and they actually have talent. Something tells me Adam Jones won't be around for too much longerhe'll be a free agent after this season, and i can't imagine he wants to play the rest of his career with a losing team. the orioles won't be competitive for years, if ever. trade him at the deadline and get some prospects. and let's hope Machado and Bundy pan out. the farm system is trash.
2/20/2012 11:50:56 AM
Didn't they just hire a GM from the Cubs a couple of years ago? I seem to remember a lot of excitement around that. I guess it hasn't worked out too well.
2/20/2012 2:59:46 PM
^MacFail is gone
2/20/2012 3:03:29 PM
now we have Duquette, who was run out of Boston, and soon after he left they started winning championships.nice move, Angelos.[Edited on February 20, 2012 at 3:12 PM. Reason : .]
2/20/2012 3:11:44 PM
well, you gotta hand it to him... Peter sure knows how to lose
2/20/2012 3:16:07 PM
he'll find a way to run the team long after he's dead. what a scourge he has proven to be.
2/20/2012 3:36:09 PM
that job is so toxic that it was turned down by several candidates who opted to remain in lesser positions.
2/21/2012 7:02:57 AM
3-0...i wonder when they begin the yearly meltdown?Matusz on the mound tonight. here's to hoping he doesn't get rocked by all the Yankees hitters.
4/9/2012 3:38:53 PM
the first ever 162-0 season continues tonight!
4/9/2012 7:12:06 PM
Looks like Orioles Fever finally caught up to Robert Andino
4/11/2012 10:47:08 AM
nah he's just developing a touch of stoicism. he's still happy inside.
4/11/2012 11:04:25 AM
first place!2nd in the league in team HRs behind the Rangers. it won't last, but Wieters, Jones, and Reimold are tattooing some balls right now.
4/20/2012 3:19:29 PM
Saw my first O's game in a while last night. same team.
4/22/2012 12:32:41 PM
up 5-0 on the yanks in the 8th. How will we fuck it up
5/2/2012 9:42:03 PM
BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL **unless the nats win tonight, then it's tied for
5/6/2012 8:30:18 PM
I predict the Orioles will finish with as many wins as the Capitals.
5/6/2012 9:07:03 PM
chris davis' 2 Ks from pitching should negate 2 of his 5 Ks from batting today
5/6/2012 9:39:15 PM
hate that I had to leave at the end of the 13th.and, I know that 4Ks at bat in a game is a golden sombrero. what's 5?
5/6/2012 10:22:35 PM
Five strikeouts in a single game is a pretty remarkable feat of failureWhich is why it is known as the aaronburro
5/6/2012 10:41:44 PM
5/6/2012 10:47:51 PM
fuck yeah O's! please keep it up.

win streak ends tonight at 5. matusz is on the hill
5/7/2012 7:19:58 PM
dude was right
5/7/2012 9:52:15 PM
he started to look kind of good around the 4th or 5th. i dunno. i think he'll get one more start and then they'll send him down. he may not even get one more. it's just really a shame what happened to that guy. i blame the organization entirely.
5/7/2012 10:08:54 PM
haha, the O's were like "who are you calling an elite team? fuck that, we gon' lose a few. keep you fuckers in yo place!"
5/8/2012 8:56:21 PM
o's went through "the gauntlet" and made it out 9-6. looks considerably easier the next few weeks. shit, could win 5 against the royals considering how inefficient they are at base running thanks to ned yost insisting on stealing a lot.
5/16/2012 8:30:15 PM
dude. it's the orioles. haven't you learned by now that April and May mean nothing?
5/16/2012 8:40:12 PM
i'm sorry, when did i ever say the orioles were locks to win the AL east?
5/16/2012 8:49:32 PM
a lock*
5/16/2012 9:29:42 PM
espn's gametracker for baseball is pretty neat. even better when the o's are lighting it up
5/16/2012 10:39:44 PM
suck it, royals. probably gonna go to at least 1 game against the nats this weekend. shouldn't be much different than a home game in terms of number of o's fans in the seats. shouldn't be too hard to get 2 wins out of it either[Edited on May 17, 2012 at 8:07 PM. Reason : .]

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/wei-yin-chens-surprising-fastball/cool/impressive article about chen's performance thus far. i'm remaining extremely cautiously optimistic that he won't come skyrocketing down to earth soon (he will )
5/18/2012 10:11:32 AM
this is just too good to be true.
5/19/2012 10:31:43 PM
it's still may
5/19/2012 10:45:25 PM
yeah it's may, but this is the best team we've had since 05, and that team got bit by the injury bug, and then the pitching went to shitboth of those things could still happen, but i think this team is a lot better. chen has definitely benefited from being a complete unknown facing the AL the first 2 months, and he's probably due to regress, especially once people realize they need to stop swinging at his high fastballs, but hammel has been very good, too. idk if it's just a combination of being away from coors field as well as developing a 2 seamer, but it's working well for now. the offense kicks ass. the starters are ok enough. britton is coming back soon. the bullpen has been awesome. it's early. i understand it's early. i don't expect a whole lot from this team, but at this point it's pretty reasonable to think they can finish above .500, and all i care about right now is breaking the fucking losing streak. they're fucking up dylan bundy's development, but god damn it i'm going to enjoy what's happening as long as this team will let me.
5/20/2012 1:37:27 AM
isn't bundy still pitching for the Shorebirds?I think we'll see Machado up before we see Bundy.
5/20/2012 10:48:55 AM
Natty Boh is now sold in Raleigh. PR's has it on draft and in cans, I hear Landmark carries it also and that Peace Street Dusty Beer sells cases.
5/20/2012 11:13:02 AM
^^ they have him on a ridiculous innings cap and were only planning on letting him pitch 3 innings at a time, then increasing it to 4 innings, then 5. it's stupid and isn't doing him any good.
