Wtf who designed this shit.If I have the temperature set to 80, the air condition lowers the temperature to 80 and cuts off. When the temperature hit 81, it turns back on.What's stupid about this is that it turns on and off and on and off because the room heats up really fast. Didn't anyone think to make the temperature go down to 78 so that the temperature could rise 3 degrees instead of 1 degree before it turns back on??

I believe for an average house hold, 1 degree celcius equates to 10% more work done by the unit and ~200kg of pollution over the course of a winter/summerI'm Krallum and I approved this message./]

Why do I need to select heat/cool? Just keep it at a constant temperature.

Our downstairs AC is set to 78 and our upstairs to 80. (that's the actual occupied temperature, it's obviously programmed to be higher when we are not at home). If your humidity is controlled properly 80 is not that big of a deal. A majority of office systems these days are designed for a summertime temperature of 78.

Yep. And for commercial establishments (well, really anything non-residential that is) the dead band is driven by the International Energy Code (as adopted by your area).
