I voted near my office, which is near a mostly black neighborhood. I was the only white dude in line. A woman handed me a flyer telling me to just vote straight ticket D. Almost everyone in line in front of me were first time voters. If this is indicative of other early voting sites in NC, Romney is in trouble.

Still on i seeI'm Krallum and I approved this message.

My point is that first time voters may just take the easy road, so McCrory may have a tougher road than expected.
11/1/2012 6:05:35 PM
no I gotcha, straight ticket people just make me
11/1/2012 6:06:40 PM
11/1/2012 6:08:17 PM
Why do straight ticket people make you ? If you really don't prefer any of the candidates from the other parties, why not just vote straight ticket? Takes much less time.
11/1/2012 6:24:33 PM
i had a pretty good spread of who I voted for... let's see if this will be the year that who I vote for actually wins an election
11/1/2012 6:59:59 PM
i haven't seen enough tv ads to know who to vote for yet
11/1/2012 7:17:31 PM
if you actually researched each candidate and determined that every candidate from one particular party was the best candidate then fine. something tells me about .00001% of straight ticket voters actually do that. It's a copout from having to make an actual thoughtful decision

Saps how did your research help you make a decision between June Atkinson and John Tedesco?I'm Krallum and I approved this message.[Edited on November 1, 2012 at 10:15 PM. Reason : I am really on the fence, maybe you can help me out]
11/1/2012 10:13:40 PM
jesus christ, if there's any republican NOT to vote for it's john tedesco. i can't even see his name without getting angry and flustered.
11/1/2012 10:17:18 PM
you don't count, and more importantly that wasn't the point.I'm Krallum and I approved this message./]
11/1/2012 10:21:05 PM

11/1/2012 10:25:39 PM
I voted for Atkinson[Edited on November 1, 2012 at 10:51 PM. Reason : don't worry I brought my own ]
11/1/2012 10:46:10 PM
I have tedesco on my sheet. Don't remember exactly but I'll go back and look when I'm back at my comp
11/1/2012 10:54:06 PM
11/1/2012 10:54:47 PM
I voted for Johnson but I think Romney will win.
11/1/2012 10:55:41 PM
I apologize, I meant atkinson not tedesco. mostly because wake county schools have been a clusterfuck under tedesco's guidance and every teacher I've talked to hates him[Edited on November 1, 2012 at 11:29 PM. Reason : also atkinson got her doctorate at ncsu, bonus points ]

I personally never vote straight-ticket because I like to make decisions even in those races where no Democrat is running.Anyway I voted for all ballot issues, and for the Democrat in all executive and legislative positions in which a Democrat was running, except that in the County Commissioner's race between a Democrat and a Libertarian, I voted for the Libertarian (generally, if there's a D and an R, go for the D; if only one of the two is running, prefer J to G to L to D to S to R to C, and try to figure out where any independent candidates stand); in the judicial races, I went by a combination of ratings of professionalism from bar associations I compiled at http://jansal.net/Ohio2012Judicial.shtml and as a result I voted for only 3 Democrats among 8 contested seats (1 of 3 Supreme Court, 1 of 2 Court of Appeals, and 1 of 3 Court of Common Pleas), even though before looking in to it I was planning to vote for 7 Democrats and the write-in for Court of Common Pleas Juvenile Division, who appeared to be basically a Democrat.

^^sounds much better

You people who voted for Johnson...why? You know he's not going to win. You hate both real candidates so much that you waste your vote?
11/2/2012 8:14:21 AM
^ well, yeah...no one votes a third-party candidate except to throw away their vote (while still claiming they voted) or to brag about how they voted third-party (as if this makes them special instead of stupid)don't get me wrong...i think that third-party candidates SHOULD matter...but they don't and that's the reality
11/2/2012 8:34:19 AM
well, fuck me...bring on the suspendersit wasn't even intentional this time [Edited on November 2, 2012 at 8:34 AM. Reason : .]
