You are publicly admitting to a crime.
11/3/2012 3:20:04 PM
depends on the state IMO
11/3/2012 4:21:12 PM
people instagram themselves doing illegal shit all the time.
11/3/2012 4:31:23 PM
what crime?
11/3/2012 6:11:44 PM
In North Carolina it's illegal to record anything inside of a polling place and it's illegal to post images of marked ballots (even your own)[Edited on November 3, 2012 at 6:48 PM. Reason : ]
11/3/2012 6:48:24 PM
oh ok
11/3/2012 8:02:25 PM
you can publicly suck my dick and take your law and stick it up your ass
11/3/2012 8:05:46 PM
it's also illegal to do it IDB
11/3/2012 8:52:56 PM
It should be illegal to instagram period. Just like twitter, people think every little thing they do is so fucking important to everyone else.
11/3/2012 10:01:47 PM
Its all about social validation. Everyone is fb friends with that girl who takes a self portrait of themselves everyday to fish for likes
11/3/2012 10:25:33 PM
twitter: If you see something, say something.
11/3/2012 10:58:40 PM
It turns out that it's probably illegal in Ohio too: http://www.citmedialaw.org/state-law-documenting-vote-2012#OhioGeneral tips on documenting the vote are here: http://www.citmedialaw.org/documenting-vote-2012
11/4/2012 12:03:40 AM
its also illegal to rig voting machines which I have successfully done, I hope all you Romney supporters enjoy your votes turning into Obama votes... all your votes R BELONG 2 US
11/4/2012 12:07:24 AM
It would be a good counterbalance to what has actually been done: http://www.ukprogressive.co.uk/breaking-retired-nsa-analyst-proves-gop-is-stealing-elections/article20598.html
11/4/2012 12:49:54 AM
Fuck a cameraphone
11/4/2012 2:07:42 AM
11/4/2012 9:38:33 AM
What's the rationale behind blocking pics of your own ballot?
11/4/2012 11:19:08 AM
^ To prevent a modern form of carousel voting would be my guess.
11/4/2012 11:26:42 AM
I had to look this up, and the practice has been used as recently as the previous decade, but in (post-)Soviet Russia: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Carousel_voting
11/4/2012 2:25:33 PM
theres no need for photo IDs though, i mean they might be inconvenient for some people to get
11/4/2012 2:27:07 PM
this could be the greatest election ever... all the hipster voters get arrested !
11/4/2012 2:28:04 PM
^^how about definitely are
11/4/2012 2:41:50 PM
for who?
11/4/2012 2:46:46 PM
poor people, dumbass
11/4/2012 2:48:33 PM
do any of those poor people collect welfare, unemployment, food stamps, etc?cause photo IDs are required for all those things
11/4/2012 2:52:04 PM
Photo ID laws probably could have been passed if republican law makers hadnt been caught saying how it'll help them win, then further writing the laws in a way clearly designed to disenfranchise certain demographics.
11/4/2012 3:32:39 PM
i personally think it's a little strange that anyone who knows my name and address (public information) can go and cast my vote.
11/4/2012 3:36:56 PM
Putting a camera in every voting location would be one way to detect in-person voter fraud without disenfranchising those who have a difficult time obtaining an approved photo ID.
11/4/2012 4:19:22 PM
seems like requiring a photo ID would be easier than monitoring tens of millions of people on tens of thousands of cameras
11/4/2012 4:21:56 PM
It's not as effective. Anyone can fake an ID. Isn't the idea here to prevent fraud at whatever cost?
11/4/2012 4:25:31 PM
anyone can fake an ID with a barcode on the back that scans into a DMV/government database? we're not talking about 19 year olds with facial hair trying to buy a 12-packor would you require everyone who enters a voting location to directly face the camera so they can use facial recognition software to verify tens of millions of people then cross-reference them?
11/4/2012 4:29:33 PM
What this country needs are national ID cards and #s for every individual.
11/4/2012 4:32:20 PM
Ah so now we are setting up barcode scanners that link to "government databases" at every location? How is that cheaper than a camera?
11/4/2012 4:32:30 PM
a cop can scan the back of your drivers license and pull up all your information from a "government database" i'm sure government issued IDs have the same type barcodesbut i guess you'd rather rely on old men security guards to monitor cameras watching thousands of people walking past cameras at angles that dont always show their faces clearly
11/4/2012 4:35:57 PM
And what happens if the connection goes down? I guess the election is canceled. No one has to monitor the cameras real-time. Record the images in case there is an issue so we can go back and identify violators. Plus it acts as a deterrent.
11/4/2012 4:40:07 PM
so we're able to identify 150,000,000 people by camera footage?why not just get a free government issued ID?you need a photo ID to receive free healthcare, welfare, social security, food stamps, medicare, unemployment benefits, get a job, etc, whats the big deal about getting an ID to vote?]
11/4/2012 4:43:12 PM
Elections are a joke. We need kings and queens. Lords and ladies. Absolute power.
11/4/2012 4:44:08 PM
What's the big deal about the government putting cameras in every polling location? This is obviously a serious problem that must be stopped. I don't see why you are so opposed to stopping voter fraud.
11/4/2012 4:46:36 PM
i don't have a problem with cameras in every single voting location, i just don't know how effective they'd be, especially compared to something as simple as free ID cardsyou'd pretty much need to take a picture of everyone who entered, and i mean a clear frontal picture of their face, and then keep track of over a hundred million people's pictures, probably using facial recognition softwareusing a photo ID that costs you no money seems much, much easieri really dont get all the opposition to this, considering you already need a photo ID for so many other basic things in society
11/4/2012 4:51:24 PM
Some people can't get photo ID very easily. Maybe someone mugged them the day before the election and took it. Or maybe they are lazy and just dont feel like getting one. That shouldn't take away their right to vote. And it doesn't have to when there are other ways to prevent fraud.
11/4/2012 4:54:58 PM
lol
11/4/2012 4:56:21 PM
I don't think anyone is arguing that photo id for voting is a bad idea. The republican plans to implement it were intended to disenfranchise citizens though in their application and timelines.[Edited on November 4, 2012 at 4:58 PM. 11/4/2012 4:57:31 PM
A Ron Paul supporter's wet dream.

There would be no need for ID cards if everyone just mesmerized their National Identification #[Edited on November 4, 2012 at 5:27 PM. Reason : ]

Lol I said mesmerized up there. Woops
11/4/2012 6:03:53 PM
^^^ wouldn't an inflection point be a sign of fraud? Where is the fraud in that chart?
11/4/2012 6:04:59 PM
^ The decline in Paul votes matches the increase in Romney votes, suggesting the machine changed Paul ballots to Romney ballots.

I support a photo ID requirement at the polls... as soon as the DMV stops charging for Licenses and ID cards.
