12/8/2012 10:56:46 AM
I'm still using Windows 3.1, so no.
12/8/2012 11:03:02 AM
I got to get that Ad Block now lol.
12/8/2012 11:11:15 AM
i also post from windows 8 machines
12/8/2012 11:26:35 AM
I really like W8, although I can see how most people hate it. I feel like an expert already with it.
12/8/2012 11:28:37 AM
Garbage software
12/8/2012 11:29:59 AM
^ Thx for adding weight to my assumption.
12/8/2012 11:31:10 AM
it's fine for tablet or even touch screen setups. it's absolutely ridiculous for any serious desktop user and is entirely pointless
12/8/2012 11:41:57 AM
Nah brah, you just got tunnel vision with all the previous versions of Windows and can't free your mind to understand what W8 brings to the table. Its OK, I understand.
12/8/2012 11:44:18 AM
12/8/2012 12:12:14 PM

12/8/2012 12:45:05 PM
I got one of the Logitech giant touchpad things for my non-touchscreen desktop, I hated Win8 on the desktop without it but like it nowhttp://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/touchpad-t650?crid=7
12/8/2012 12:48:46 PM
The touchpad and touchscreen helps a lot.
12/8/2012 12:50:07 PM
That thing got a hemi spellchecker?
12/8/2012 1:32:45 PM
You wanna #humblebrag about your internet-enabled TV too?]
12/8/2012 5:52:37 PM
I'm thinking about upgrading to Win8 too...
12/8/2012 9:30:48 PM
I'd consider it more of a lateral move
12/8/2012 9:40:02 PM
^^ sorry to hear that
12/8/2012 10:43:20 PM
come on it's not as bad as the transition from XP to Vista (which I did skip)...right?I mean right, guyz?
12/9/2012 12:05:49 AM
it's not the transition that's bad. learning how to use something new is not difficult it just takes an open mind. the fact is - there is absolutely no reason for an os to be built in this manner for a desktop user. it's laziness on windows part and quite honestly a lack of creativity. on top of that it's not even that great of an os. it's laggy and childish and looks like a fisher price toy.vista was absolutely awful of course, agree with you there. i'm sure the underlying processes of windows 8 work just fine for the most part. but there is no reason to drag the tablet/phone interface onto the DESKTOP computer
12/9/2012 12:21:56 AM
Sure there is, there is a great reason for this: touchscreens. Touchscreen tablets, desktops, laptops, hybrids... everything.
12/9/2012 1:02:34 AM
Is there Windows 8 support for the following?Adobe Premiere CS5.5 and upAdobe AfterEffects CS5.5 and upAdobe Photoshop CS5.5 and upAdobe Illustrator CS5.5 and upAVID Pro Tools 10Cockos Reaper 4.3Camtasia Studio 7
12/9/2012 5:20:44 PM
12/9/2012 5:23:39 PM
But all the message boards said it was terribad!
12/9/2012 5:25:19 PM
It doesn't truly start up faster than Windows 7. If you shut down, it doesn't actually shut down, it does like a hybrid shut down. If you restart your computer, it does a full restart and the startup times are the same as Windows 8. The new "shut down" is stupid to me. You can always just hibernate your computer, which is essentially what the new shut down does in a half-assed type of way.

12/9/2012 7:13:57 PM

12/9/2012 7:34:30 PM
one of my machines has XP, the other has W7
12/9/2012 7:37:58 PM
Only two machines? Thanks for making me feel like a nerd : /
12/9/2012 7:44:38 PM
XP is pretty stable which is nicebut also a bunch of my customers have XP machines, so its nice to be able to see exactly what they see when I'm walking them through some type of fix/repair
12/9/2012 7:46:50 PM
I can definitely understand that. It's just so freaking slow to boot up (if you don't have an SSD)
12/9/2012 7:48:33 PM
good luck getting your iPod to sync. I still can't get it to work, and I've had my laptop for over a month.[Edited on December 9, 2012 at 10:50 PM. Reason : a]

Windows 8 killed my wifi on my laptop. Drivers or something makes it not work. Worked right up until I upgraded.

windows 8 has crashed on me like 2X in 2Weeks. not impressed face
12/29/2012 6:16:16 AM
Windows 7; because prime numbers are a hacker's nightmare!
12/29/2012 6:20:06 AM
If Widnows 8's desktop mode had all the features of win7 then i'd get it but unfortunately desktop mode doesnt even have a start button, let alone full task bar features....
12/29/2012 8:58:30 AM
^what? It has all the taskbar features of 7 plus a bunch of new ones. No start menu can be remedied with start8 or classic shell.
12/29/2012 10:10:11 AM
I just got a Bamboo drawing tablet for Christmas, and it's almost like using a touchscreen.
12/29/2012 1:02:45 PM
^^maybe, but the fact that i have to get a fix for the most basic things makes this seem a like a chore.I hope they put out a service pack like they did with vista that makes major changes
1/1/2013 5:05:24 PM
I will be buying a MS surface pro that has the windows 8 OS. Hopefully they get this shit figured out before the Pro comes out
1/1/2013 5:22:16 PM
oh i hate it when you pointing at the screen for emphasis and realize you messed something up or accidentally clicked something because it is a unbeknownst touch screen.
