I guess most of the dudes here have wives that make them lunches.I'm Krallum and I approved this message.

My SO's co-workers go out to eat a lot but it's mostly junky food and it gets expensive so he's stopped doing that. Or so he says.
12/18/2012 8:32:30 AM
I technically get an hour but most days I eat at my desk (and not work) or go take a walk around the lake on our campus or read over lunch and then eat at my desk while working.[Edited on December 18, 2012 at 8:34 AM. Reason : ]

Usually work from the office, but it's not uncommon for me to work from home. When I am in the office, I just eat at my desk and work through lunch. If you do take a lunch break, there is not set limit on how long it can be... As long as at the end of the week, you have at least 40 hours
12/18/2012 8:34:58 AM
Yup, our time is billed based on what project we work so I can take as little or as long as I want technically. Its weird here, people who come in at 7 almost never take a lunch and then people who come in at 9 almost always doI'm Krallum and I approved this message.
12/18/2012 8:36:35 AM
Not often, though I can whenever. I just prefer to power through and gtfo.Nope.However long I want it to be.
12/18/2012 8:41:19 AM
we do what we want, flex schedule
12/18/2012 8:46:37 AM
^^^ we bill our time that way as well but we have so much inter-coordination that we basically have a courtesy schedule because otherwise it becomes inconvenient to the other people we're working with on our project.
12/18/2012 8:48:49 AM
I've got an hour long lunch break, and either go out to lunch, run some errands or go to the gym.
12/18/2012 9:13:23 AM
I bring a bag lunch, which I generally eat on the toilet, immediately after I defecate.
12/18/2012 9:33:39 AM
they force us to take a one hour lunch. apparently too many people were taking 30 min lunches and then leaving 30 minutes early to go to their kids' athletic events or something and then not using their vacation time. I usually just cut up a bunch of carrots at the beginning of the week and bring some cottage cheese/crackers and just eat those as a snack while I watch netflix at my desk.
12/18/2012 9:34:29 AM
sometimesnotheoretically, 1 hourThere's no real limit/policy on lunches, it's just more of, have at least 40 billable hours/week and get your work done.I typically eat at my desk while working; however, I will use my "lunch break" to go run errands when I have them.
12/18/2012 9:42:31 AM

12/18/2012 10:02:41 AM
I take a lunch break.Work in office 3 days & remote 2 days.Usually 30 mins, but sometimes go out to lunch and take around an hour. I tend to make up for lost time by coming in early most days.
12/18/2012 10:11:19 AM
Work at home.I go out sometimes, other times I eat at my desk while I work on whatever. If I go out, I take as long as I want/need, usually about an hour.
12/18/2012 10:23:22 AM
Yes/No... I typically snack/eat all day. If I do take a lunch break, I go shopping or teach a spin class.Yes. Remotely, though I do have an office space at my company's campus. As long as I want. But usually I don't take a break.
12/18/2012 10:46:13 AM
Dont get one. I snack when I can.

i eat like a 2nd grader, take my lunches at 11am
12/18/2012 10:49:39 AM
Sometimes bring leftovers, but mostly just grab something from the hospital and eat at my desk. Occasionally go out to Franklin Street, and a couple of times even gone to Durham. Also if time allows I will use that as gym time and do that or just get out and walk. Can't really work remotely, and I get an hour.[Edited on December 18, 2012 at 10:58 AM. Reason : ]

12/18/2012 12:44:03 PM
I get an hour breakIn our new building we're not allowed to eat at our desk, which sucks because it's hard to run errands on your break and eat at the same time. So I just run my errand for an hour, and then come back and eat in the cafe after I'm done (that takes about 30min). Change the rules and I won't take more than an hour.

I usually go to the gym and for a run or walk and then eat lunch, before I worked somewhere with a gym I usually ate at my desk.

yes, i usually take a lunch break that's anywhere from 60-90 minutes, depending on the day...i'm less than 10 minutes from home, so i usually just go there, let the dogs out, and read or watch something from the DVR...or run errands or do a small project around the housei work from home when i feel like it, but not that often...our company supports flex scheduling, so i'm thinking about moving to 4 10-hour days per work week...or 44/36 schedule (9 hours MTWT and and alternating fridays of 8 hours and out)[Edited on December 18, 2012 at 5:40 PM. Yes. Occasionally. 30-90 minutes.

I have 30 minutes paid lunch. It's probably 50/50 between bringing something and eating at my desk and going out with co-workers to grab a quick bite.
12/18/2012 8:30:22 PM
I don't have time. But I do typically finish my day around 2-3 pm.
12/18/2012 9:33:46 PM
office and not really. If I'm going to leave the office for >10 minutes, I need to wear a pager and have my phone forwarded to an Ascom phone to wear around. Way too much trouble so I just eat at my desk and take lots of <10 minute walks around.
