How is it that the little guy can only keep one flounder per day over a BS 2-week season, but the commercial fishermen can load up on them at will? Biden needs to get the feds to step in and make NC DMF put an end to this racket

Yeah, I want to be able to enjoy the occasional seafood meal when I'm retired. I've read some pretty depressing articles about the rapid decline of fish populations.

I'm fine with it if will likely lead to the increase in fish, oyster, crab populations....Most fried seafood restaurants around the coast get their shrimp from china anyways (I don't know how true this is, but suspect most of it isn't local shrimp)[Edited on June 19, 2025 at 11:09 AM. Reason : Actually, I'd like to learn more about it]

we caught a bunch of juvenile flounder at Cape Lookout like two weekends ago - tossed 'em all back because they weren't big enough AND this year's limit is 0oh and the future of eating seafood is squid[Edited on June 19, 2025 at 11:18 AM. Reason : and green crab]

Clawson's is gonna have that locally* harvested shrimp & grits, with the grits being grown locally in Iowa and the shrimp coming from the South China Sea via 18-wheeler from the local California port

if any masked flounder refuse to show their badge you stand your ground

^ and then you either die or get badly injured resisting.then, if you don't die, you also get charged with resisting and/or injuring officers.which is exactly what has happened.

I've done a little more learnin' and I'm currently undecided how I feel about this.... I need to do more of a deep-dive before I know what side I'm on.Now do Wilmington (only 10 of 44 restaurants serving US (not even necessarily "local" shrimp):https://www.nationalfisherman.com/genetic-testing-shows-shrimp-fraud-in-wilmington-restaurants
